This report will present some results from a Norwegian survey conducted by a group of researchers from various professions led by the Norwegian Police University College. The survey had originally a focus on the use of doping among young Norwegians. However, within the survey there were questions about police as a career choice, more specifically: What do you think can hinder you in becoming a police officer; what are the most important tasks for the police; background like education; and some value preferences. This consequently led to a study around the question: What characterizes a group (n= 645) of Norwegian youth (19 years of age) that sees the police as a possible future career? The report will also look into some gender differences, and differences between immigrants and majority youth.no_NO
